Sustainable Youth Work Training

We try to hold training sessions in venues all over Highland, but often we need to centralise training courses to maximise attendance. We’re keen to try hold training in club venues all over Highland. If you would like training to take place at your club venue, we require a minimum of 8 attendees before we can consider this and it must be made available to other clubs and organisations.  Please get in touch if you have any training requirements or if you would like to host a training event.

In March we offered up our first Introduction to Youth Work training. The course filled up quickly and we have a waiting list of people who want to attend this training. The course gives participants information and ideas about positively working with young people. Participants will cover several modules over the two sessions. These will include understanding of your own practice, working with young people, the role of the youth worker, risk management, planning a programme, the values and principles of youth work, theory in practice, youth leadership, monitoring and evaluation, celebrating achievement. The course is a 2 day training event and participants are expected to attend both days training and, with support, will create their own portfolio evidencing their practice and learning. We also hope to bring this course to young leaders and senior members and well as adult youth workers.
