CLD Pocket Toolkit

Youth Highland have worked with a group of young people to design an easy to use toolkit giving easy to understand reminders about the 7 CLD competencies. The toolkit can fit in a pocket or wallet and is a helpful resource for anybody working with community or youth groups about the role and responsibilities of a good CLD worker. If you would like a toolkit (or a few) please contact us at info.youthhighland.org.uk and we will send some out to you. Youth Scotland have also developed a useful resource for youth workers about CLd - why not have a look and download a copy from their website

Arts Resources

We know that it is difficult to come up with new ideas for activities to do with young people every week...

Youth Highland are working to create an on line resource area for youth workers to share creative project and activity ideas. If you would like to share examples of your clubs successful arts projects please get in touch with us or send step by step 'how to' worksheet and photos (make sure you have consent if young people are in photos!). We will aim to develop a comprehensive arts resource over the coming months. This will act as an opportunity for member clubs to share good practice as well as an opportunity to celebrate and 'show off' what is going on in your club. Get involved!

Get Set for Play

As part of our Free Play project, we have published a toolkit for introducing free play to youth clubs and groups, called Get Set for Play. Funded by Inspiring Scotland’s Go Play fund, this bright and accessible toolkit is full of information and advice on introducing play activities into youth clubs and groups.

The toolkit includes a section full of ideas for activities and games, as well as information about the benefits of play, challenges and solutions, and paperwork (and we’ve included template policies and forms to make the paperwork as pain free as possible!).

The publication is available free of charge to Youth Highland member clubs and groups. Other groups and organisations can purchase the toolkit: £13 (Youth Scotland members) £18 (non-members).   Download an order form here

Participation Project

As part of our Participation Project we have produced a short handout telling you about some of the team building games the young people involved in the project learnt at their first residential in October 2011.  You can download the handout here
