Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme

On 28th February 2011, the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme replaced the disclosure system. The scheme aims to ensure that those who have regular contact with vulnerable groups through the workplace (in paid and unpaid positions), do not have a history of inappropriate behaviour. It is essential that anybody working in your club regularly has a PVG check.

It will exclude people who are known to be unsuitable, on the basis of past behaviour, from working with children and/or protected adults. It will also detect those who become unsuitable while in post.
To find out more, download an information sheetat the bottom of this page or visit the PVG Scheme website.

If your club/group is a Youth Highland member you can access the scheme via Youth Scotland. Clubs which were previously registered for Disclosures will be automatically be registered for PVG.

If you want to register your member club for PVG please get in contact with Suzanne Forup at Youth Scotland: (Suzanne.forup@youthscotland.org.uk).
