Professional Development Award in Youth Work,

SCQF Level 6

Youth Highland are working in partnership with Youth Scotland to deliver an accredited PDA in youth work in the Highlands. The course has been developed by Youth Scotland and is already delivered in other parts of Scotland. We are very excited to be offering the training to youth workers in the Highlands and hope that it will equip workers with skills and understanding which will increase their confidence at using youth work methods to deliver quality youth work.

We are grateful to Youth Scotland who have financially supported us in bringing this training to the Highlands and enabled us to offer it to participants at an affordable price.

The PDA in Youth Work is made up of three units:

  •  Understanding and Exploring Youth Work
  •  Engaging with Young People
  •  Delivering Youth Work

Participants will be required to complete all three units, all assessments and a practical assessment within their workplace or the youth club/group where they volunteer.

For more information about our training programme or to discuss training to improve youth work practice please contact us at the office Clair Nichols, Youth Highland clair.nichols@youthhighland.org.uk, Tel: 01349 865186

Enjoy these photos of the first participants during the first weekend of their training!

We ask that all potential participants be able to commit to the whole course before signing up.  Please ensure you are available for all course dates and have the time to be able to complete a small amount of home study and the ability to allow a practical assessment to be done.
